Watermelon and strawberry sangria

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 small seedless watermelon, rind removed, flesh cut into large pieces (about 4 cups)
  • 1 lb strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced, 1 cup reserved for serving
  • 1 bottle of rose wine, chilled
  • 1 cup of vodka
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 0.5 cups orange liqueur
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced

Preparation:

  1. Combine watermelon and strawberries in a blender and blend until smooth; add a splash of vodka if needed to create a fruit puree.
  2. Strain into a large pitcher; you'll only need about 4 cups of juice. Add the rosé, vodka, orange juice, and liqueur and stir. Add the orange and lime slices, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours. Just before serving, stir in the reserved strawberries. Serve the sangria over ice.
