Turkey Bread Stuffing – Basic Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of onion
  • 2 cups of celery
  • 2 apples
  • 2 eggs
  • 16 cups of white bread

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 110g of butter. Add 2 cups each diced onion and celery, 2 sliced ​​apples, and 1 tbsp each chopped sage and thyme; season with salt and pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add 3 cups of chicken broth and bring to a boil. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and 1/4 cup of finely chopped parsley; add 1/6 cup of cubed stale country white bread, then add the vegetable mixture and stir.
  4. Transfer everything to a greased 3-quart baking dish and arrange pieces of butter on top.
  5. Cover with foil and bake the bread filling for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake until golden brown, another 20 minutes.
