Turkey Bread Stuffing – Basic Recipe topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of onion
- 2 cups of celery
- 2 apples
- 2 eggs
- 16 cups of white bread
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 190°C.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 110g of butter. Add 2 cups each diced onion and celery, 2 sliced apples, and 1 tbsp each chopped sage and thyme; season with salt and pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add 3 cups of chicken broth and bring to a boil. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and 1/4 cup of finely chopped parsley; add 1/6 cup of cubed stale country white bread, then add the vegetable mixture and stir.
- Transfer everything to a greased 3-quart baking dish and arrange pieces of butter on top.
- Cover with foil and bake the bread filling for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake until golden brown, another 20 minutes.
