Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 large red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes with green chili peppers
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 450 g of ground beef
- 0.5 cup golden raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped olives stuffed with pimento peppers
- 1 layer of chilled pie dough (pie), 200 g.
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 220°C.
- In a 25cm ovenproof skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, garlic, and a generous pinch of salt and black pepper.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are browned and tender, about 6 minutes. Add the tomatoes, cumin, and cinnamon and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Move the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the ground beef to the other side; season the beef with salt and black pepper. Increase the heat to high and cook, stirring all the ingredients, until no more pink spots remain on the beef, about 3 minutes.
- Add raisins and olives and remove from heat.
- Unfold the pie dough and fold it over the filling; use the tines of a fork to press the edges into the inside of the pan.
- Transfer to oven and bake until golden brown, 15-20 minutes.
