Ingredients:
Asian Spice Mix with Sesame
- 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons lightly salted soy sauce
- 1.5 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon Five Spice Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Nuts
- Protein of 1 large egg
- 4 cups unsalted raw cashews
- 1 cup chopped fried bacon
- Vegetable oil to grease the baking sheet
Preparation:
- Combine sesame seeds, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, five-spice powder, red pepper flakes, and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt in a small bowl and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet with vegetable oil.
- Place the egg white in a large bowl and whisk until foamy. Add the cashews and stir to coat. Add the spice mixture and stir again.
- Spread the nut mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet, then stir in the bacon and transfer to a large bowl.
