Chocolate chip cookies in a skillet topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 110 g unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 and 1/4 cups premium flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 350 gr. semi-sweet chocolate granules (2 tbsp.)
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
Preparation:
- Position the oven rack in the middle position and preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Melt the butter in a 10-inch (25 cm) cast-iron skillet over medium heat, then set aside to cool slightly for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add melted butter. Do not wash the pan. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Using a wooden spoon, stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture until smooth (do not beat). Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Using a silicone spatula, transfer the batter to the prepared pan, gently pressing it to the edges and smoothing the surface. Bake until the cookies are cracked and golden, the edges are browned, and the centers are still soft, about 40 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Slice the cookies and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
