Apple and pear tart with honey glaze topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet (250g) frozen buttered puff pastry, thawed
- 1 Bartlett pear, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup warmed honey
- Mascarpone cheese, for serving
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.
- Dust a cutting board with flour and lay out the puff pastry on it. Dust the puff pastry with flour and carefully roll out the folds. Transfer the puff pastry sheet to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Leave a 1 cm border around the edges and use a fork to prick the edges all the way around the dough. Prick the center of the dough about 10 times around the entire surface. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Arrange the pear and apple slices on top of the dough in 4 rows or diagonally, slightly overlapping, avoiding the edges. Brush the fruit with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake the tart for 15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and flakes.
- Brush the fruit with honey and bake for another 5 minutes. Serve the tart warm with mascarpone cheese.
