Ingredients:
- 2 plain bagels, cut in half horizontally
- 0.5 cup canned tomato sauce
- 4 slices provolone (about 100 g)
- 1 tbsp. grated mozzarella (about 100 gr.)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, optional
- Additional toppings: mini pepperoni slices, sliced roasted bell peppers, sliced pitted black olives, or banana pepper rings
- Freshly grated Parmesan, for serving
- Special equipment: air grill with a capacity of 6 liters.
Preparation:
- Place the bagels cut-side up in the air fryer. Toast at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown, about 2 minutes (see Note).
- Remove the bagels from the air fryer. Drizzle each with 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce, top with 1 slice of provolone, sprinkle with 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella, 1/4 teaspoon of oregano, and 1/8 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, if using. Add other toppings, if desired.
- Return the bagels to the air fryer. Cook at 350°F (175°C) until the bagels are toasted and the cheese is melted and starting to brown, another 4–5 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
