Hot sandwich with cheese, mushrooms and cutlet topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 2 slices Swiss cheese (60 g total)
- 2 teaspoons butter or margarine
- 1 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1 cup thinly sliced fresh mushrooms
- 2 Grillers Prime patties with vegetables
- 2 tsp butter or margarine, softened
- 4 slices of marble rye bread
- 1 tbsp steak sauce
Preparation:
- In a large nonstick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the onion. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and beginning to brown.
- Add the mushrooms to the onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft. Remove from the pan and keep warm.
- Place the patties in the same pan. Cook over medium heat, uncovered, turning once, for 7-8 minutes, or until heated through. Remove from the pan. Keep warm.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Dry thoroughly with a paper towel. Spread 2 tablespoons of softened butter on one side of the bread slices. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
- Top with the patties, steak sauce, onion mixture, and cheese. Top with the remaining bread, butter side up. Cook, covered, over medium heat for 2-4 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottom. Flip. Cook, uncovered, for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown. Cut in half. Serve immediately.
On the grill:
Preheat the grill. Grill the patties until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) on a meat thermometer.
