Yellow sponge cake with chocolate ganache in a jar

Ingredients:

    Yellow sponge cake

  • 110 g softened butter
  • 0.5 cups of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup premium flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cream 10%
  • Cooking spray

    Chocolate ganache

  • 1/4 cup cream 10%
  • 0.5 tbsp. chocolate granules
  • Special equipment: 4 jam jars of 250 ml each, washed and dried

Preparation:

  1. Yellow sponge cake:

    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until fully incorporated. Add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl. Add half the flour mixture to the butter mixture and stir until smooth. Stir in the cream. Add the remaining flour.
  3. Spray the jars with cooking spray. Fill each jar about halfway with batter. Place the jars on a baking sheet and bake until the cake is firm, about 25 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the chocolate ganache.:

    Heat the cream in a saucepan. Add the chocolate. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then stir the ganache until smooth. Once the sponges are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for 1–2 minutes. Spoon the ganache on top. Seal the jars tightly and let them cool.
