Ingredients:
- 1 cup frozen assorted berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants)
- 1 frozen ripe banana, peeled and sliced (see note at end of recipe)
- 1/2 tbsp. low-fat vanilla yogurtFor a thinner smoothie, you can use drinking yogurt.
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
Preparation:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.
Exit: 2 tbsp.
Note Using frozen berries and fruits eliminates the need for ice, which dilutes the smoothie's flavor. Peel and slice a banana, then freeze it in a freezer bag. You can prepare frozen bananas ahead of time and use them to make smoothies, shakes, and bake muffins and cupcakes.
To make drinking this thick smoothie convenient, use special thick smoothie straws or a spoon.
