Pizza with bacon and three types of cheese

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 450 gr. pizza base room temperature
  • Flour for dusting
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 230 g ready tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 crushed clove of garlic
  • 0.25 tsp dried oregano
  • 110 g of grated mozzarella
  • 110 gr. grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp. l. grated parmesan

Preparation:

  1. Place a pizza stone or an upside-down baking sheet on the bottom rack of the oven and preheat the oven to 250°C (450°F) for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, roll out the dough into a 20cm (8 in) circle on a lightly floured surface. Dust a pizza peel or another upside-down baking sheet with flour; place the dough circle on it and let it rise.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp, about 6 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Combine the tomato sauce, olive oil, garlic, and oregano in a bowl; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Transfer the dough directly to the hot stone or baking sheet and bake until lightly golden, about 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly, then carefully cut in half horizontally with a serrated knife to create two thin halves.

Flip the pizza crust over so the bottom is browned. Spread the prepared sauce on top, then sprinkle evenly with mozzarella, cheddar, and bacon. Return the pizzas to the hot stone or baking sheet; bake until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden, about 8 more minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan.

You can put bacon with pureed green sauce on a flatbread and bake without adding cheese (see recipe).
