Ingredients:
- 700 g of ground beef or ground turkey
- 4 hamburger buns, cut in half
- 1.5 tbsp. l. canola oil
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 4 cloves roasted garlic, crushed
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 8 thin slices Swiss cheese
- 4 thin slices smoked ham
- 2 pickled cucumbers, cut into 0.6 cm thick slices.
Preparation:
- Divide the meat into 4 equal portions, each weighing approximately 170 grams. Form each portion into a patty about 2 cm thick and make a wide indentation in the center with your thumb. Season the patties on both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil in a skillet or grill pan over high heat until shimmering. Fry the patties until golden brown and lightly charred on one side—about 3 minutes for beef and 5 minutes for turkey. Flip.
Fry the beef patties on the other side until golden brown and lightly charred - 4 minutes for medium rare (3 minutes if topped with cheese) or to your desired doneness.
Grill the turkey patties on the other side for about 5 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, top the patties with cheese, if using, and close the grill lid or cover with foil to melt the cheese.
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and roasted garlic, season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread on both sides of the bun. aioli saucePlace a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each bun, top it with a patty, then a slice of ham, more cheese, and some pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Grill the burgers in a sandwich press or wrap them in foil and grill them in a hot skillet over high heat (press down on the burgers with a heavy skillet) until golden brown, about 1 minute 30 seconds per side, and the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
